Ismails animated college graduation film Super D opened him the doors to Hollywood. As an animation and computer graphics supervisor at George Lucas Industrial Light & Magic he initially left his mark on many high profile commercials which were recognized by several Clios as well as Gold Awards at the London and Australian Effects & Animation Festivals.
He continued to sharpen his skills to seamlessly combine fantasy and reality in feature films like Star Wars, Harry Potter, War of the Worlds, Pirates of the Caribbean or Transformers. This work was acknowledged by many Academy Nominations and an actual win for best Visual Effects in 2007 for Pirates of the Caribbean.
In the meantime he pursued his passion for film and storytelling by writing and directing many live action shortfilms (whatever, Carlos, why...father?, Troubled and Fanatik) which lead him to worldwide assignments as a commercial director.
Ismail works today as an independent director and is based in Hamburg/Germany and San Francisco/California.
